The Calvert Marine Museum has provided the hard-to-find first edition of the Calversion published by John Cole in early 1978. It is available here. The almost complete set of Calversions is available here.
Many thanks to the Museum and staff who are helping to keep the USS Calvert’s history alive through their efforts to serve as the permanent repository for the USS Calvert Collection — objects, documents, and other memorabilia donated by members of the Calvert Associates and other generous donors over the years.
Bud Ruth, the Calversion’s store keeper for many years, sent me the following amazing artwork and USS Calvert photographs that were originally used to create a t-shirt design (further below). The origin of the map is currently unknown, although I hope to learn more about it’s origins and artist at this year’s reunion.
